About Me
My name is Sophia Arguello, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a mother of two. Like so many, I struggled with the transition into parenthood and the grand shift in identity and relationships that come with it. I longed for the support of community in a world where the village has eroded. This ride of parenthood and ongoing experience of change, struggle, and transition shaped not only who I am as an individual and a parent, but who I am as a therapist.
Today, I specialize in working with those navigating the complex, beautiful, and often overwhelming journey of life transitions. Whether you're adjusting to the identity shift of parenthood, grieving a loss, facing a crossroad, or moving through a major life change, my practice offers a steady place to pause, recenter, and explore, even when the waters feel rough.
My approach is integrative and personalized. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment theory, and an eclectic range of evidence-based modalities tailored to your unique needs, I work collaboratively with each client to create a path forward that feels authentic and supportive. I’m also certified in Ecopsychology, a nature-based approach that honors our innate connection to the natural world and recognizes it as a steady and healing presence.
I deeply value the context of your lived experience, including your identity, culture, and environment. We are greatly shaped by the systems, and structures in which we live, as well as the experiences of those around us. These interconnections will not go unnoticed here.
Therapy with me is not about fixing you—it’s about helping you reconnect with your strength, find clarity, and move through life with more ease and authenticity. Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative space to make sense of your experience while honoring all the parts of who you are—your identity, your story, your values. You’re not broken. You’re becoming.
